SNAFU: Tanks a Lot!
Things did not go as planned when a M62 wrecker attempted to lay down a 10,000 gallon steel tank.
Randy Orpe was using his M62 wrecker to lay down a 10,000 gallon steel tank at a defunct lumber mill when he lost control of the load. When the load shifted and the parking brake failed, he bailed out. When asked how he got it back on its wheels, Randy replied, “got another truck and a bigger chain.” He welded attachment points on the tank and used a shelter mobilizer to move it as a trailer.
