See the Winners: 2021 MVPA CONVENTION, South Bend, Indiana

Motorpool, Restored, Master Class: Here are all the winners of the 2021 Military Vehicle Preservation Association’s Annual Convention

The MVPA hosted its 2021 International Convention inside and around the Century Convention Center in South Bend, Indiana. Concurrently, the Armor Modeling & Preservation Society (AMPS) held their 2021 Super Regional Show.

Each year the Military Vehicle Preservation Association’s annual International Convention brings together historic military vehicle enthusiasts from around the world and throughout the U.S. Many of the best vehicles – of all types and eras – and recognized experts are found in one place. The 2021 MVPA International Convention took place in South Bend, Indiana, August 12-14 at the Century Center.

With the arrival of the MVPA Yellowstone Trail Convoy, more than 100 historic military vehicles were on display throughout the weekend. Vendors were located both outside and with the Century Center. The Armor Modeling & Preservation Society (AMPS) held their 2021 South Bend Super Regional Show in conjunction with the Convention giving visitors a lavish “scale view” of many military vehicles and models.

In addition to the usual host of special lectures, tours, and opportunities to buy and sell, this year’s convention had some extra buzz. Because 2021 marked the 50th anniversary of AM General, and 160 years of military vehicle production in South Bend, the company stepped forward as a sponsor of the 2021 convention. AM General’s representatives selected what they believed to be the best examples of South Bend’s extensive military production: The owner of those vehicles selected by AM General displayed their vehicles in the prominent AM General pavilion on the convention ground for the duration of the convention. In addition, the owners of the selected vehicles received a check for $1,500.
