Stephanie Rader was recently awarded the Legion of Merit award after initially being recommended for the award 70 years ago by her employer, the Office of Strategic Services (OSS).

Raider died last January at the age of 100 and was laid to rest on June 1 in the Arlington National Cemetery with full military honors.

According to an Associated Press report, Rader was a daughter of Polish immigrants and spoke fluent Polish. Sheused her skills as a spy to gain information on Soviettroop movements in Poland.
