The SHOT Show (Shooting, Hunting, Outdoor Trade Show) isn’t a gun show. While it features thousands of firearms, is attended by more than 60,000 people and fills nearly an entire convention center in Las Vegas it isn’t a gun show. It is actually the annual industry trade event where manufacturers, gun shop owners and retailers and industry insiders gather to see the latest products in the world of firearms.

There is also much that can be seen that would appeal to military collectors, re-enactors and history enthusiasts. The Jan. 15-18, 2013, SHOT Show’s tag line was “Too Good to Miss.” A visit to the show floor clearly indicates why, indeed, this one show shouldn’t be missed.

Despite increased calls for firearms legislation, SHOT Show – which is produced by the National Shooting Sports Foundation — is the show that must go on.

A Springfield 1903-A3 in sniper rifle configuration from Gibbs Rifle Company. These have been professionally refurbished using new 4-goorve barrels with original Smith-Corona receivers and original C-configuration. These are approved for Curio & Relic sales.
German Sports Guns, which introduced the .22LR version of the infamous StG44/MP44 last year, unveiled its new MP40 ‘Schmeisser’ in .22LR to be introduced next year. To avoid being classified as a short barrel rifle (SBR) the GSG-MP40 features a faux suppressor.
Thompson Guns introduced its newly made line of M1carbines and Thompson submachines.
