In observance of National Wreaths Across America Day (Dec. 17), the Capital Wheel at National Harbor will be lit at the top of every hour during evenings this week through Dec. 18.
On Saturday, December 17, thousands of volunteers will place nearly a quarter of a million wreaths at Arlington National Cemetery, in a mission to remember, honor, and teach about those who serve and sacrifice to protect our freedoms. 2016 marks the 25th anniversary of wreaths being placed on headstones at Arlington. Peterson Companies and National Harbor are happy to help sponsor wreaths, so that veterans and their families will know that this holiday season, we are giving the gift of gratitude to those who serve, and those who made the ultimate sacrifice. Additional wreaths are still needed. To contribute, go to www.WreathsAcrossAmerica.org.
Where: National Harbor Capital Wheel (116 Waterfront Street, National Harbor, Md.)
When: The Capital Wheel will be lit as the National Wreath beginning Sunday, Dec. 11 at 5 p.m. and will be lit each evening thereafter (through Sunday, December 18) for the first five minutes of each hour.
