FAIRFIELD, Maine – Francis Lombardi, department head of the Firearms Division, announced recently that Julia’s will be expanding the scope of firearms offered at their Semi-Annual Firearms auction. Julia’s is proud to introduce their “Sporting and Collector Firearms Auction”. This auction will focus on fine sporting and collectible firearms that are more affordable than those typically offered in Julia’s “Extraordinary Auction of Rare and Historic Firearms.”

Wes Dillon, former department head of the Firearms division stated, “During the past few years, I have been approached by countless clients asking us to expand our product offering to include firearms at a more affordable price point. There is no one in the market who matches Julia’s reputation for our strong rate of return and reputation for expertise. This expansion is exactly what our clients have been asking for.”

The “Sporting and Collector Firearms Auction” will immediately precede Julia’s October and March “Extraordinary Auction of Rare and Historic Firearms.” Julia’s expects that the auction will feature firearms and related items in the $2,000-8,000 range. The auction will have its own catalog, and a very competitive commission structure consistent with Julia’s reputation. Julia’s is known for its 0% commission for high value collections and firearms, and this program continues with this auction as well.

Jim Julia, founder and president of James D. Julia Auctioneers said, “For many years now, our sales billed as ‘Extraordinary Auction of Rare and Historic Firearms’ has been composed primarily of the more expensive firearms, i.e. $5,000 and up to $500,000 or more. In fact, the average sale price per lot consigned is currently around $15,000-$17,000. Now with the addition of Francis Lombardi, we now have the team to ensure that all our clients will continue to get the ‘Julia’s’ experience as we expand into this category starting with the October 2015 Auction. The ‘Extraordinary Auction of Rare and Historic Firearms’ will be immediately preceded by a one-day auction of ‘Sporting and Collector Firearms.’ The price range will generally be more modest and will present a tremendous opportunity for sellers of moderately priced items to sell with the world’s leading auctioneer of fine and rare firearms. In addition, our 50 year reputation of honest and fair dealings, and providing the best value in the Firearms Auction business to our clients is unmatched in the industry.”
