Gary Sinise Foundation relaunches podcast in memory of Gary’s son Mac Sinise
Relaunch of the Gary Sinise Foundation Podcast kicks off with actor, humanitarian and GSF founder Gary Sinise, hosted by GSF vice president & U.S. Marine Corps. veteran Cristin Bartter.
NASHVILLE, TN – The Gary Sinise Foundation, which was established in 2011 by Actor and Humanitarian Gary Sinise who has been a staunch supporter of our nation’s veterans, first responders, heroes and defenders for more than 40+ years, announced today the relaunch of the Gary Sinise Foundation Podcast in memory of Mac Sinise.
The podcast was originally created in 2019 by Gary’s late son, Mac, who at the time was the Assistant Manager of Education and Outreach at the Gary Sinise Foundation. After hosting the first two episodes, the podcast was paused when Mac became too ill with his battle against cancer.
The relaunch of the podcast, officially episode three, is hosted GSF Vice President of Marketing & Communications Cristin Bartter, who is a proud veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. Ms. Bartter will help share the stories of those who serve our country and defend our freedoms, while taking listeners on a powerful journey of inspiration, gratitude and service.
Mac, who was also a very talented musician and the studio where the podcast is being recorded from at GSF headquarters in Nashville is named the Mac Sinise Memorial Studio, recorded an album right before he passed away in January of this year that was just released on Spotify called Mac Sinise: Resurrection & Revival along with a Vinyl version via the Gary Sinise Foundation website. All proceeds from the sales of that record benefit the Gary Sinise Foundation.
In the first podcast of the relaunch, Ms. Bartter sits down with Gary to talk about Mac’s legacy and how his incredible mission of service continues to inspire generations of Americans. In the second podcast of the relaunch, Ms. Bartter sits down with Gary’s daughters Ella Sinise Feldman and Sophie Sinise George to share some of their fondest memories of their brother Mac.
“This podcast holds a special place in my heart as it is inspired by Mac, who began our original podcast in 2019, but due to his fight with cancer was unable to continue his dream and only two episodes were completed,” said Actor and Humanitarian Gary Sinise. “So, we are reviving the podcast in honor and memory of McCanna Anthony ‘Mac’ Sinise.”
“It’s such a true honor to continue Mac’s legacy of service alongside his father though the Gary Sinise Foundation podcast,” said Podcast Host Cristin Bartter. “This is a labor of love for me personally as I get to honor my brothers and sisters in arms, and the people who support them, while sharing such amazing stories of service.”
Ms. Bartter recently celebrated ten years with the Gary Sinise Foundation, bringing with her a profound dedication of service, rooted in her own call to service that magnified in the days following the tragic events of September 11. Coming from a family of service, including her father who served proudly for 22 years in the U.S. Air Force, Ms. Bartter enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps. Following her service which took her all the way to Marine Corps Air Station in Iwakuni Japan, she would eventually graduate with a degree in corporate communications from Belmont University.
