The Central Wisconsin Military Show celebrates U.S. military history and honors veterans
The event, which is the largest of its kind in Wisconsin, aims to increase awareness and education about the U.S. military while honoring past and present veterans.Attendees can get up close and personal with military vehicles and memorabilia, meet veterans and veteran service groups and watch historic re-enactments.
The annual event is held on the second weekend in August. It includes a military vehicle show, battle re-enactments, a militaria and gun swap meet, guest speakers, veterans service organizations, weapons demonstrations, live raffles, food court, live music and even a pin-up contest.
This year the show is open to the public Friday August 9th, noon until 11pm and Saturday, Family Day, 8am- 6pm. The Central Wisconsin Military Show is hosted by the Motorama Auto Museum on the museum event grounds 18 miles east of Wausau just off highway 52. As an extra treat, portions of the museum will be open for viewing during the event.
Central Wisconsin Military Show educates visitors and honors veterans with help from tourism grant. “We are proud to support Motorama Auto Museum in its mission to honor those who have served our state and our country,” said Tourism Secretary Stephanie Klett. “This grant will help organizers attract more visitors to the Central Wisconsin Military Show, which will create positive economic impact in the area.”
“We, at the Motorama Auto Museum, are grateful for the support of the Wisconsin Department of Tourism,” said Tom Zatloukal of the Museum. “We are committed to creating a platform for veterans service groups as an integral part of the Central Wisconsin Military Show. The Department of Tourism grant will allow us to bring more tourism to central Wisconsin and help us support our veterans. We also want to thank our continuing Presenting Sponsor Ho-Chunk Gaming, Wittenberg. ”
Admission is $10 for adults and is good for both days. Kids 12 and under are free.
Take a drive up north for a weekend break, enjoy a great show and support our veterans.
